Welcome to Turning Point Mentor Centers
We are an after school educational program for children and youth living in abject poverty that also focuses on prevention of teen and pre-teen pregnancy, criminal behaviors, and abuse/neglect at home. We are dedicated to the education, physical well being and safety of our children. The children in our centers live in homes much like the Appalachian areas, many without electricity or running water. Many of their parents are addicted to Meth or alcohol, putting care and education for the child on the back burner. We provide the children with food, homework help, personal character, and centers for reading, math/science, art, music, and physical education. We want these children to excel in school and in life; reaching for their goals with positive encouragement and celebration of their accomplishments. It is our goal to educate and assist children, teens, and adults in such a way as to lead them into success for the future.
